Reading - We will be reading the book, ‘Vlad”. As part of this, we will be inferring meaning, exploring vocabulary, making predictions, exploring and looking at the impact of the great fire of London
Our whole class reading sessions will link to aspects of ‘Vlad. We shall look at Vlad’s perspective on the great fire of London, what he saw, and how he thinks it started.
As writers - We are going to investigate the different aspects of what happened in 1666, we shall link this to our writing, create a set of instructions, and look at the cause of the Great Fire of London.
In Maths- We shall be carrying on with length and height. We shall be ordering and comparing different lengths and heights of everyday objects including ourselves.
Key Vocab- length, height, measure, tall, taller, tallest, short, shorter, shortest, centimeters, meters.
Science- We are going to be looking at animals and focussing on nocturnal animals, what makes them nocturnal, and looking at owls and looking at species and their habitats.
Key Vocabulary – owls, nocturnal, habitat, night, species, food diet.
Geography – We shall continue to look at maps, and focus on London in particular.
Key vocabulary – Map, compass, direction, North, East, South West, forward, left, right, London landmarks.
History – We shall focus on the Great Fire of London, a timeline of events and causes, looking specifically at Samuel Pepys.
Key Vocabulary – Pudding Lane, Samuel Pepys, London, timeline.
Art – We shall be creating houses that will be set on fire in a controlled and safe environment.
